A 1-bedroom in the centre runs about 15.0m VND (~$578) per Numbeo, or 7.0m (~$270) outside it; add a $77 hot desk, $2 street lunches and a motorbike-and-Grab transport bill and ~$1,600 is a comfortable single-nomad number with room for weekend trips.

Expat comfort: ~$2,000-2,800/month

A serviced two-bedroom in Thao Dien, a gym (about $24/month on Numbeo), eating out most nights and regular domestic flights. nomads.com's expat tier is $1,275 and its family tier $2,300, so a couple sharing rent undercuts the tier maths quickly. The 90-day e-visa is the workhorse

One electronic visa, open to all nationalities, valid up to 90 days: USD 25 single-entry or USD 50 multiple-entry, 3 working days processing, and purchased only through the official government portal (evisa.gov.vn). The multiple-entry version is the standard nomad tool: a flight to Bangkok or Da Nang and back resets your stay cleanly.

No digital-nomad visa yet

Vietnam has no DN visa - unlike Thailand's DTV or Malaysia's DE Rantau. Citizens of about thirteen countries (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Nordics, Japan, Korea and most of ASEAN) enter visa-free for 45 days, but that waiver is tourism-only. Long stays mean stacked e-visas and border runs, or a work permit with a local employer.

WiFi & Coworking

The measured fibre here is world-class.
